At Castello di Stefanago we maintain

an environmentally conscious approach to wine production.

PACKAGING

​

In order to reduce carbon emissions during manufacture and transportation,

our wine bottles are as light as they can be.

Stefanago wine labels contain up to 50% of natural dried grass fibers

reducing water consumption and carbon emissions during manufacture.

ENERGY SOURCES

​

The electricity consumption of the winery is covered by our solar energy system.

​

AGRICULTURAL PRACTICES

​

In our farming system we don't use synthetic pesticides nor herbicides.

We are a certified organic winery.

Natural woods, meadows and vineyards in Stefanago

are equally distributed in order to balance agriculture and biodiversity.

80 Families of bees live in Stefanago producing wildflowers honey.

WATER MANAGEMENT

 

All roofs in Stefanago harvest rain water, while runoff from roads,

hillsides and small streams is stored in ponds at the bottom of the valleys.
